Reduce Reuse Recycle | Learn How To Recycle Items In Pet Society!

Go green in pet society.

Is your room or chest too cluttered with unused items with no room for display? Now you can recycle it and exchange for a prize item. You can recycle anything, I've tried food, door and even poo! By the way recycle poo gives 8 recycle points, 5 point food item gives 10 recycle points.

There are 3 cut off points to cash out at 10,000, 20,000 and 30,000 recycle points. It is also an award that you can chase after!

Here's how you can get to the recycle bin.

Step 1:

Look for your chest and open it up.

Step 2:

You will find the recycle bin located just under the cash register. To recycle an item just drag the item that you want to recycle to the recycle bin.

Step 3:

And you will be greeted with this screen where you are shown the recycle points that you item is worth. If you have decided to recycle the item just click on the "tick" to proceed the recycle job. That's it!

Just found a new icon when I visited pet society today. Guess what! you can take a picture of your pet now.

Look for the camera icon just beside the status (smiley face). Click on it and you will be brought to the screen below.

Where you can take a picture of the room, a close up shot ofyour pet or even a portrait shot!
Cool I just too 2 pictures, one close up shot and a shot at the stadium ... After my pet won the race of course. HeeHee what else. Yeah victory shot!

Got try it out, you can display those photos as well on Facebook photo albums.

Make your pet poo in pet society.

Well, since my last post is about the "House of shit Award". I guess is good to share a little about getting you pet to poo in the pet society game. I had observed that new pet poo faster. (No pun intended.)

First of all, your pet needs to be left "dirty" meaning having a low hygiene score. Hygiene is represented by the blue bar. I recalled not cleaning it for days.

Secondly, keep on feeding and playing with your pet. Feeding is represented by the red bar and playing the green bar. I keep those as full as possible.

Rule of the thumb is eat and play with no bath! Sounds like any typical kid who does not like to shower isn't it? ;-)

Metal Detector Trophy - Hole 9, Moscow (9 coins)

1. Aim the arrow full blast so that the edge of the triangle hits the left or right side of the wall (I prefer the right side). The ball should reach the large coin on top of the ramp.

2. The ball usually doesn’t hit the small coin on the ramp. Use small force to get closer to the bottom of the ramp. Then, with medium force, aim for the coin.

3. Aim the ball to hit all three flaps and the rest of the coins. (this part is always random, unless you hit the first flap at a certain angle that makes the ball roll in the shape of a diamond, hitting all flaps and coins and entering the launch… I’ve never done it , but know someone who can).

(as you can see, I’m not good at angling and the shot I made did not hit all the flaps, but the black arrow shows how the ball will move if properly angled) Also, I do not know the proper timing so that the bear doesn’t block the ball after it hits the last coin.

4. Aim for the launch once all flaps and coins are hit, but use medium force if you are near the entrance or fairly large force if you’re far (and make sure the bear is not going to block the entrance, i.e. let him pass the entrance and be on his way towards the ramp.

Metal Detector Trophy - Hole 8, Mexico (31 coins)

1. Aim parallel to the walls and full force. The ball should bounce off all the walls and hit the first coin before stopping in front of the ramp. If not, reset to the beginning.

2. Align the arrow full blast parallel to the walls of the ramp, or point the arrow head slightly off-centre of the top of the ramp. If you do not get the coin, restart to the beginning.

3. Carefully shoot backwards to get the coin at the edge (use less than a cm/0.5 in.) be careful not to roll off. If I don’t fall into grass, but into the path, I like to restart again.

4. Always aim parallel to the tiles, so that the ball bounces off the angled walls and rolls straight along the “wall-less” path.

5. If you miss any coins, go back and always carefully aim to get them (small force).

6. To get the floating coin, 2 steps:
a) aim the ball to bounce back so that it is close to the crocodile’s head.

b) Aim the ball so that it hits the crocodile’s head (usually it should point at his snout/ tip of the crocodile’s mouth, not the top of his head). When you hit the right spot the crocodile will yank open his mouth and throw you golf ball upwards.

7. Aim the ball with medium force towards the hole in the hat.

8. Get the large coins that are beside the Aztec pyramid. Using the angled corners are helpful, especially if the ball is close the walls.

9. Carefully get the 2 small coins in front of the pyramid (if you didn’t get them when shooting through the hat).

10. Line up the ball to the edge of the wall of the pyramid and aim the ball to go straight up the pyramid, but the arrow head bottom edge should just touch the top edge of the pyramid (too much power makes the ball fly behind the pyramid).

11. If the ball does not directly go into the hole, use very little force (0.5cm/0.75 in.) to get into in the hole (too much power will make the ball bounce of walls and/or roll down).

Metal Detector Trophy - Hole 7, London (20 coins)

1. Aim parallel to the walls and hit full blast. The ball should roll in between the buses and hit the two coins. If not, keep hitting until you get both coins.

2. Aim parallel to second walls and hit the ball full strength when the light turns yellow to green. The ball will roll across the bridge.

3. Gently hit (small to medium force) the ball so that it rolls down, but does not go past the three coins.

*In step 2, you can also hit the ball on a red light. It will roll back down. Then, the next shot you can hit the ball full blast (straight/parallel to walls) when it’s green, so that the ball will roll over the bridge and just before the three coins.

4. Very carefully (very small force, no stem of arrow showing) get the three coins, being careful not to touch the shadow of the Ferris wheel.

5. Then aim the arrow at the shadow of the Ferris wheel with slightly-smaller-than medium force (1.5 cm or a bit more than 0.5 in.). This is to make the ball reach the other side, but not fly into the hole right away.

6. Aim to the left or right side walls to get 2 small coins. With medium-large power, the ball will also roll up to the higher platform.

7. Get the 2 large coins behind Big Ben and the other 2 small coins (the ball will roll down and hit them) by aiming with medium force along the wall.

8. To get up the ramp, use medium force and make sure the arrow is parallel with the ramp and use the wall behind you as well. The arrow tip should just barely climb up the ramp – too much power will cause the ball to bounce off the tower and roll back down.

(in this shot the ball bounced off the tower and stopped close to the edge of the ramp)

9. Carefully get the little coin that’s in front of the hole. Always use little strokes and then only arrowhead “triangles” when really close to the coin/hole.

Metal Detector Trophy - How to at Egypt (38 Coins)

Metal Detector Trophy - Hole 6, Egypt (38 coins)

1. Aim the arrow head so that the left edge is aligned with the left-most edge of the second dark rectangle on the left side of the path. The arrow head should be aligned with the beginning of the rectangle (pointing at the end of the rectangle is too much power) and the left edge of the triangle does not touch the left edge of the rectangle. If you do not get both coins, keep trying (or if you get one and manage to go through, reset to the beginning of the hole).

2. Set the ball so that is in front of one of the two legs of the sphinx.

3. Aim the ball so that it goes straight up the leg and is slightly angled toward the nose of the sphinx. If you don’t break its nose, repeat steps 2 and 3.

4. Zoom out to see the large square hole on the right side of the pyramid. Aim the ball so that it rolls up the pyramid and rolls/bounces down into the square hole. Keep trying, it is a lot of trial-and-error and adjusting. YAY! You got the hidden treasure!

5. Once the ball is “spit out” of the pyramid, aim the ball to go straight up into the hole at the top of the pyramid. This also requires a lot of trial-and-error, but I find that using full power almost never works (so use a bit less). The ball will get all the coins along the wall.

6. Once the ball stops from rolling along the “coin wall” aim the ball so that it is parallel to the brown wall to get the small coin/go up the little ramp, use medium power (full might make the ball go into the hole).

7. Set the ball so that it is behind the first little brown pyramid.

8. Aim the ball so that the arrow travels up the little pyramid and onto the sphinx’s back. The arrow stem should show a little “bump” and the arrow head should point to the groove above the sphinx’s hind leg. Keep trying if the ball rolls off the back/into the grass.

(In this picture, I got the 2 coins, but the ball bounced back, almost to the hole. It is better to have more control of the ball.)

9. Using very small force, get the two large coins behind the sphinx’s head.

10. Roll off his back and carefully get the last coin (if you haven’t already) before sinking the ball into the hole.

Metal Detector Trophy - Hole 5, New York (12 coins)

1. Aim full blast (or almost full blast if your ball bounces into the river) parallel to the walls and hit the ball when both taxis move just past the middle on their way to the top wall (or on the way to the bottom wall).

2. Aim the ball towards the first coin in the centre of the stadium and hit it when the gorillas’ eyes are green/ his arm is up.

3. Aim the ball parallel to the walls and half the arrow head’s triangle should be on the hill. The ball should touch the small coin on the other side. If not, shoot back with small force to edge closer to get it (but this will make it more difficult to get the large floating coin).

4. Aim the ball straight/parallel to the upper wall and the arrow head should go over the whole hill and almost touch the pool. If you don’t hit the large coin, I recommend you start from the beginning, because it is very difficult to hit from the other side and not have the ball roll into the first pool.

5. Get the remaining 3 coins, being careful with the one closest to the last pool.

Metal Detector Trophy - Hole 4, Paris (17 coins)

1. Aim full blast, slightly to the left of the first coin and hit the ball when the car hits the upper wall and just starts to drive down. Take good note in the figure that the white arrow tip is not on the coin and the car just started to drive down. You can also hit the ball when the car just hits the lower wall/starts to drive up. The ball should hit all starting coins and go through the arch and stop just before the bridge.

2. Go back and get the 3 coins around the Louvre (glass pyramid) museum. An easy way is set the ball so that it can hit the wall and travel around. You might not hit the one behind the pyramid, so either travel around in the pyramid in the opposite direction or take small shots.

3. Set the ball to be in front of the bridge and with a more-than medium force, hit the ball so that it hits the large coin floating over the bridge.

4. THE LAST FOUR COINS ARE TRICKY! You have to be VERY careful not to let the ball touch the dark bowl-shaped carpet or else the ball will roll into the hole. What I did: gently tap the ball so that it hits the edge of a leg from the Eiffel Tower and with medium/large force hit parallel to (or slightly away from) the neighbouring leg. Repeat this for all 4 coins.

1. Aim VERY straight/parallel to the walls and full blast – to reach the 3 coins on the column. If you do not get any, reset the ball to the beginning, adjusting your aim. ( i.e. if the ball fell on the right side of the column, aim slightly more left).

2. If you manage to get the first two, you can shoot the ball so that it is just before the smaller broken column and aim it parallel to the closest edge and the arrow head should be touching/almost touching the faint line. If you don’t get the last coin, retry either way (using the small or large column).

3. Reset the ball and aim straight down the middle with full force of the narrow left side path. (there’s 4 small coins)

4. Aim the ball full force towards the coliseum to get 2 large coins.

5. When the ball hits the pizza, aim a bit more than 1 cm or ½ in. slightly to left or right side of the hole.

6. Carefully (using very little force) get all the coins around the hole.

1. Aim straight, parallel with the walls, with the arrow head just barely up the incline.

2. The second (and third, if necessary) shot should have a cm (or less than ½ in.) length arrow aimed to the left of the last coin, but still in the pale grey tile. (try not to let the ball roll off into the pool).

3. Aim the arrow full blast, pointing at the forehead of the statue. If the ball doesn’t hit all three large coins, click the menu button and reset the ball to the beginning. Repeat steps 1 and 2.

4. Once you have all three large coins, zoom out and check to make sure you have all the coins on the Great Wall of China. If not, reset the ball and carefully (medium force) get them.

How connected are you in pet society?

How many connection you have in pet society? Are you like me who never scroll to the end for a while? Have you ever wonder?

It could determine how much daily pocket money you have in this game. Provided you have the time to visit all. LOL.

Given that:
1. The first 50 friends = 20 coins per visit.
2. The next 25 friends = 10 coins per visit.
3. The rest of the friends = 5 coins per visit.

This is only friends visit, not inclusive of the extra coins that you could receive while making the pets happy and clean, especially those pets with happiness and hygiene bar empty.

I was just scrolling and scrolling and scrolling today. Anyone wants to make a wild guess how many connections I have as of today 4th Jan 2009? Locking to this date because I have friends add request almost everyday.

How to get yellow ducks in Pet Society?

I found this set of instructions from Sonya to be very good and had spoken to her to allow me to do a short description then point to her thread at the Pet Society Forum.

This post is about how you can obtain the yellow ducks in Pet Society through gifting to a friend and have your friend gift it back to you.

What will you need?
1. You will need 250 coins
2. A trusted friend to get your yellow duck(s) gifted back to you. Please don’t exchange it with a friend that you add because of a game, unless of course you know that person can be trusted.

Metal Detector Trophy - How to at Taj Mahal, 27 coins

Metal Detector Trophy - Hole 1, Taj Mahal (27 coins)

1. Aim slightly to the right of the three coins at maximum strength. The ball should hit all three, bounce off the wall and hit the next three coins. The ball might hit the one on the hill, but that’s ok if it doesn’t.

2. Make the ball roll down the hill (if it hasn’t already) but don’t aim for the hole. Zoom out so you can see the all of the Taj Mahal.

3. Aim full force towards the Taj Mahal, in between the building and the rightmost post (almost straight, slightly angled). Keep trying if it bounces off the post or rolls onto grass/off the marble floor or doesn’t make it at all.

4. There are four large coins inside (each worth five coins). Use very small force – 1 or 2 dots of the stem of the arrow, or none at all. BE CAREFUL with the one facing the red carpet/bird. I would do it last, because it might roll onto the carpet before you collected the other three.

General tips per Susanna:

1. Be patient – you have 50 shots to do each round and it took me MANY attempts before I got the trophy.

2. Be careful – most of the time it is better to use less strength/smaller shots (less than 1cm or 0.5 in.)

3. I recommend practicing Rome, Paris and Egypt as single holes first (they were the most difficult for me) or whichever hole you have problems with.

I'm going to organize this into 9 sub post, because the instructions plus pictures will make the post very long. I'm going to use this page as a main entry page to the rest of the course.

Gaming Mouse - Which would you use?

This is the mouse I use. It's a gaming mouse, I had gotten some years back, I didn't get the high end ones. This is an older model X708, 800dpi, optical mouse. For those who are gaming frequently or play a lot of shooting games, well you may want to consider getting a gaming mouse instead. It boost higher resolution for better precision, has configurable mouse buttons where you can program to do say "double click" at the touch of one button.

This mouse allows you to:

1. Adjust double click speed
2. Re-program the mouse for a left handed (basically it's swap left and right button)
3. You can even configure and set your mouse with gaming commands. According the the manual that I have, it's sort of like you record the keystroke correspond to say a game that you commonly play. Manual showed the keystroke for Counter Strike. Like "ctrl" (Hunker down) and "R" for reload of bullets. (I didn't program for a game, but I used it for something more relevant to my work)

Hasbro drops law suit over Scrabulous!

I had posted previously, about WordScraper as the "Second Life" of Scrabulous.

For those who followed Scrabulous, remember this message?

"Scrabulous is disabled for U.S. and Canadian users until further notice. If you would like to stay informed about developments in this matter, please click here."

The lawsuit was in July against the Agarwalla brothers, who developed Scrabulous and put it on Facebook Platform. Several changes were made since the lawsuit started, to distinguish itself from looking too alike to Hasbro’s Scrabble game.

According to a report by Associate Press

“RJ Softwares, the Agarwalla brothers' company, said in a statement that it has agreed not to use the term "Scrabulous" and made changes to different versions of the game it created after the lawsuit was filed.

How to get healthy cash flow early in Metropolis?

Metropolis Gaming tips and tricks by Albert Koey, re-published with permission.

This set of tips is great for *NEW* mayors. To get started and starts to reel in CASH and to get your city growth going.

If you want to play the game ENTIRELY on your own strategy, then DO NOT read this post.

The game plan is to ensure your city has a healthy CASH FLOW and quickly get to 1500 Culture points so that you can start buying Landmarks.

Step 1:
With your initial $250K, buy 10x City Lots.

Step 2:
Whenever you are ONLINE, set your city’s TAX RATE to 40%. Before you go OFFLINE, set your city’s TAX RATE to 30% to 35%. If you login subsequently and find that your city’s happiness is in the RED, it that means you have to lower your TAX RATE by 2-3%. You may have to fine-tune a couple of times.

Step 3:
Whenever your city’s happiness drops close to 30% to 40%, post an ENTERTAINMENT request on the WALL. Again, please DO NOT SPAM! You may want to post a second request on the WALL. This time, ask for POPULATE. You will want your city to reach 1200.

Step 4:
Once you have $100K in cash, buy 10x Empty Lots.

Step 5:
Keep repeating step #3 and wait till you have $500K in cash. Now, buy 10x Houses. Your 10x Empty Lots will be consumed by the 10x Houses. At a Culture level of 10, you should have UNLOCK Playground and Park. Ignore these for the time-being.

Step 6:
Keep buying Houses until you reach a Culture level of 50. You will then be allowed to buy Horseman and Police Kiosk. Buy the Horseman twice to increase your Culture to 250. This level will UNLOCK Private School and Apartment Building.

Step 7:
Save up to buy 5x City Lots and 5x Private Schools. If your city has a population of 1200, your Education Index should be in the GREEN, increasing your revenue up to 20% more!

As long as your city population is below 2000, don’t worry about the Health and Crime index.

Step 9:
If your Education Index is not increasing your revenue by 20%, save up to buy more Private Schools, otherwise buy 10x Houses again.

Step 10:
When your Culture level has reached 350, sell off the 2x Horseman to reduce your UPKEEP cost to ZERO.

At this stage, your city should have a decent CASH FLOW. Congratulations! You will have to play on your own now. Good luck and have fun!

Conclusion of the test:
Ok, Finally, after the comments and numerous test that the rest and myself personally tried and tested. (Look at the comments given.) I’m going to conclude that the suggested betting method works well only if you have infinite amount of $ and no limit on the betting amount.

Using this method on Pet Society (PS), DOES NOT gives you 100% success rate because there is a betting limit of $500 coins in PS. What this means is that you will loose what ever you have previously made and more on one lousy bad luck day.

Although this test fails, you may still read on and see what we did and if anyone tells you that there is a surefire way of winning … Well you know better. As for those who think that lady luck is with you always, you are free to try. I had issued my warning..:> So what’s next you may asked, hmm, looks like we are going to loose money anyway on betting, go for something you can afford, 5 coins per bet till you get your trophy. No easy way out for the time being.

This test is about not loosing your bet $ and looking for a way to do so. IT IS NOT ABOUT MAKING $ FROM BETTING.

Initial post:

A lot of us are wondering how to win in pet society betting at the stadium. Jason L post a comment in one of the pet society coins and paw points post and I did a trial and tested it. It work "so far", and I enhanced it with some observation noticed during those test races.

Ok, currently (28 Nov 2008) we do have a 2 users who mentioned that this didn't work for them. I have to say this post is still waiting for "dare to try", "loaded with $ to try" and willing testers to give their opinion on the propose betting method. (Hopefully, those who have enough coins to test, I don't want newbies to lose their coins.)

As such, I think I have to put in something like a "caveat emptor clause" for this post. Caveat Emptor is Latin for "Let the buyer beware." The idea that buyers take responsibility for the condition of the items they purchase and should examine. Whist you are not actually buying :> Please be aware that I'm not sure what's the probablity of winning and losing for a max of 7 consecutive bet. None the less, this betting game in the stadium is STILL a game of chance rather skill. We are just trying to "improve" our chance of success.

For those who loss coins because of this post, I'm sorry. I'm still testing this as well, and "so far" it work for me.

How to win betting in pet society?

Note: I started with 2582 coins.

First start with 5 coin. Result of this bet -> Loss

Bet round 2, now you bet with 10 coins (5x2). Result of this bet -> Loss

Bet round 3, now you bet with 20 coins (10x2). Result of this bet -> Loss

Bet round 4, now you bet with 40 coins (20x2). Results of this bet -> WIN
Ending with 2587 coins, which is 5 coins more then what we start with!

AFTER EACH ROUND OF WINNING, please restart your coins to 5 again.

Started with 2587 and reset my betting to 5 coins. Loss this bet.

Second round of betting used 10 coins and I win in this round. Ending coins of 2592 (5 coin more!)

So, you see the concept works!
However, there are additional things that I had observed.

1. You NEED to bet on the same lane till you get a win. DO NOT switch lane in between bets, remain in that lane until you get a win in that round.

2. I also noticed that lane 1 (The one closes to you.) seemed to have more banana peels (obstacles) then lane 2 or 3.

3. Pet seemed a little retarded as well on lane 1, it tends to trip more. (I still need to observe more, had not gone down to counting the number of fall yet.)

4. Lane 3 have slightly lesser obstacles then lane 1. Lane 2 looks the best, usually has the least banana peel.

5. Betting multiplication table:

1st round - 5 coins
2nd round -10 coins
3rd round - 20 coins
4th round - 40 coins
5th round - 80 coins
6th round - 160 coins
7th round - 320 Coins (Max the next double down is 640 coins, but the bet limit is 500 coins.)

Please we need comments from testers of this post, to help all of us to figure out what is the chance of loosing 7 rounds. (Real Bad Luck Day!)

Trick 4: First of all, do you know how hard it is to take these banana screen shots. Arrh! I had to do stretching with my fingers... (meaning to hold down Alt, Ctrl and the PrtSc key all at the same time to grab the pic while controlling the mouse with the other??!!)

Ok I'm not sure how well you can see the wordings or if it turns out well on your screen. In any case I'm going to do a simple summary. See banana peel - Just CLICK on them, don't jump. Why? Cos it's faster and you may get coins at times.

Banana Peel Advance

This is about when to click on the banana peel and when not to click.

In picture 1, I would go ahead and click because the other 2 pets are ahead of me.

In picture 2. I will not click, look carefully, there is another pet right beside me, I will leave the peel there to slow the other pet down. Get it? :> Strategize to maximize your coin harvest and chance in winning the race .... !

Playfish : Mini Golf Party Review

Ever played minigolf or wacky golf before? You have guess it, Playfish have come out with it’s 6th title MiniGolf Party. You can be rest assured of aesthetically pleasing beta release games. This by far the best release, quite unlike Bowling Buddies where you practice the skill and keep on practicing to get it right to win the award and Pet Society where wash and rinse the steps to get the coins.

In MiniGolf Party, you can choose different playing objectives. E.g. To get the maximum coins in each course and complete it. Or to get the least par for each course. Well, are you rubbing you hands and waiting to get started? Let’s go golfing!

In my first try out of the game I manage to complete the entire nine course and had gotten 2 awards from it. One for completing the course without giving up on any hole, another, ahem erm it’s for dropping the golf balls into water for 5 times. Actually, I did it on purpose, I really really want to hit the alligator and see if it would snap at the golf ball, seriously. :)

Direction and “power” of the shot is control by the mouse. (E.g. Long arrow line more power, shorter arrow line lesser power.) There’s a total of nine course right now with each course taking after popular city names like London, Moscow, Beijing, Rome just to name a few.

The game allows you to play all nine holes or to practice a particular hole individually. Good for perfecting the shots and test out the different ways of playing a course. Moscow is the most challenging course for me because of it’s rocket drop shot where you need to be precise to get the golf ball into the hole or it will bounce off the moon crater because of the force. Oh, by the way, I’ve found out that the maximum number of strokes in a course is 50. As usual... nothing new, I have tested it.

There’s a total of 16 different awards for this game, and I had manage to unearth 3 so far with 2 rounds of 9 hole game. Hey, I manage a par 3 on a par 5 course, cool right. You will love this game if you like a little challenge in terms of skills. Best of all you do not have to pay fees or have a handicap before you get into the greens, neither do you need expensive golfing gears ;>. I’ll share my gaming experience later. I need some time to gather my materials and thoughts.

Playfish : Pet Society, Hurdle race Tips and Tricks

When I first started hurdle race, I lost in all the 10 races. I had done a fair share of practice and hope these little tricks and tips helps you to increase your chance of winning.

I bet most would have missed this screen when you started racing. I did that's why I lost all races for days. This is the first set of instruction which you need to read so as to do well in the race. It's the basic.

Trick 1: When preparing to start the race. I keep my eyes on the pet that waves the start off. Look at that pet's eyebrow when the screen is about to flash "GO" the eyebrow will straighten horizontally and pause. That's when I click on my pet to start.

Trick 2: When you are crossing the hurdles with water, click on the pet one more time to get them out of the water faster. Please do so only when you do not have consecutive hurdles in front of you. In other words be selective when you use this trick.

Trick 3: Pet Society instruction on the speed pad is to step in the middle of the pad then click on the pet. This works most of the time, however if you are neck to neck with another pet and you are at the last speed pad, (Just before the finishing line) CLICK on the pet the minute it steps on the pad. You would find that you'll have a higher chances of crossing the finishing line faster.

Tip 4: Play games like "Jump the rope", "Catch the Frisbee" and "Pass the ball" to get both the trophies and coins when you need it. Turn on the sound when you play, I score higher with that as I could "hear" when my pet hits the ball and get ready.

Tip 5: Goto to the Stadium and participate in the hurdle race, there are 10 races each day, if you win the race it's 30 coins per win.

Tip 6: Bet on the winning pet, to win coins and trophy. I bet towards winning the trophy, not so much of winning coins... Initially I was loosing more coins then winning. One of the commenter Jason L seemed to have crack the betting code... I've just completed some a few rounds of testing and enhanced it, go check it out. Tip 7: Open the daily lottery. Just click on the envelope and it will open up the lottery.

Tip 8: Use the brush and brush your own pet, you will have endless coins and paw points. Your wrist will get tired shortly. :)

Pet Society: Ways to get coins and paw points

Just added this game a 3 to 4 days ago and I'm at level 18 so sharing with you how i got those points and coins from. List will grow so I may do a few posts to keep the page short.

Tip 1: Get coins by walking through the trees. Some trees have coins there. Once you have finish a round and you needed more coins, go home or visit nearby friend's house then get out of the house again to repeat.

Tip 2: Get coins and paw points by visiting friends and play, tell a joke, dance etc with them. Just do something. Plus you can get award for just doing that after X visits. Gold is at 300 visits. Check out your trophy status.

Tip 3: Get even more coins or paw points. After visiting friends, check out their happiness and hygiene stats. I normally don't feed them because if they are hungry other stats drops faster. "You can visit other pets house from the world and you country network" A lot of people asked me about this point, I need to make a special note on this, the "world and local country tab" is not available currently. I noice that it has been removed after game improvement. I'm not sure if Playfish will bring them back again to Pet Society. If they do then you know what to to, else this does not work.

Pet Society Game Review

My first thought about this game is that it reminded me of Tamagotchi, a handheld Digital Pet created in the 1996 by Aki Maita and sold by Bandai. A small egg shaped gadget with buttons that allows players to perform activities like:

Feeding the Tamagotchi a piece of food or a snack.

Playing games with the Tamagotchi.

Cleaning up a Tamogotchi's waste.

Checking it age, discipline, hunger, happiness and other statistics.

It took the school children and adults by storm to an extent that they are taking care of their digital pet more than they are taking care of themselves. Keeping their pet happy, clean and not dying in between classes, work, lunch etc. I could still recall that some schools are actually banning it then.

With Pet Society, I gather it would cause less destruction to the classes, unless of course they have access to a computer and it’s hooked up to the internet. Since playfish is into social games, their games allow the character to socialize and interact with others. In this game, your pet can buy clothing and play dressing up, go shopping for items to decorate the home, participate in races, and walk around the neighborhood.

There’s a whole bunch of trophies to win, ranging from bronze, silver to gold. You can get awards for visiting friends, gifting to friends, play games, betting in races, participating in the hurdle races, buying x pairs of shoes, hats, clothing and more.

As you progress on clearing the different levels in pet society will get you bigger house, be awarded with better soap bars, balls, skipping ropes.

Currently it’s in beta mode and thus has only 23 levels. There are weekly specials and you can get items at fairly good prices from the shops. The award requires you to buy things to achieve it so the ability get coins are a challenge in this game, unless you have a lot of friends playing it. Where you can visit them daily and get coins from there.

Bowling Buddies: perfect 300, ball alignment

Hi All, this is by far the toughest for me, usually my hand shakes and missed, but i had notice that this alignment works pretty well. I had used 2 alignment point and a 1 confirmation gauge (white dot). Please note this as well, the "white dot" can only be seen on the default blue ball.

Note:
1. Screen is set to half screen.

2. Use the mouse wheel to roll (remember to set your mouse to roll 1 page or max number of lines), pushing the mouse does not keep it in straight line. Definitely not for those with shaky hands. :)

This is the max... I can zoom, to show the very faint white dot, which a lot of players cannot locate.

Does it work for you? This is what you will get for winning the award!

As I read the comments, sometimes I'm not sure if it's the technique or the type of mouse that was used. but none the less. Just written a new post to showcase the mouse that I'm using X7 Gaming Mouse.

How I've gotten my spare award.

1. Resize your browser to about half screen, quite similar to how you achieve the strike tactic.

2. Use a wheel mouse. (My throw is not straight when I use other type of mouse.)

3. There are 3 white spots on the bowling ball itself (look carefully, can only be found on the default blue ball). This is the one that I use for aiming. I purposely aim it slightly off the middle line, so I could end up with about 1 - 3 pins on the left side after the first throw. Then spare the last 1 - 3 pins.

Mouse that I use X7 Gaming Mouse.

EA Sports™ FIFA Online 2 Closed Beta Trial, Giveaway!

I have been given 2 key code to a close beta trial for EA SPORTS™ FIFA Online 2.

The trial starts on 18 Sep so it actually gives me some time to select 2 person. I'm not a FIFA fan, but I know there are lots of you out there. So I don't mind giving it to 2 people.

I only have a simple request, a 300-600 word review of that game, in return. I'll publish that on my blog for all to read, don't worry I'll cite your name (if you are the selected one)

Firstly pageup / down still works because i have just done it!!, and its not cheating its just ensuring your mouse isn't moved and that the bowl goes in a straight line.
what you are doing is very similar because i just carefully position the bowl a and i then took a screen grab that was after 2 days of trial and error to find the most suitable spot for the bowl and to get the greatest of accuracy, i also tried other methods similar to yours of plotting lines to follow or running the mouse along against a ruler, but found pageup/down was the best method, so its no different from what you are doing.

It took me two days of work to achieve so i deserve the credit of achieving my aim to reach 300 and i can now achieve it by several methods including yours, but if you seem to think what i have done is cheating then i am afraid yours is also because in real bowling you cannot exactly prepositon the bowl and use the same guidelines ...unless you intend to paint lines on a real bowling alley and put a x or marker on the lanes where you last achieved a strike and then achieve the same speed everytime which is not possible due to human error, so therefore what you are doing is not replicating a true representation of the game of bowling. If you wish to play the game as if you were playing real bowls then i am afraid you should not be drawing lines etc to use as a mouse guide as it too can be conceived as cheating!

Most games are designed in a mathematical way so there are always going to be ways to increase the possibility of getting a higher score etc, and as they say practice makes perfect!, luck can play a part of course, but the games are designed for fun, for me its challenge to increase my odds of winning and by working out solutions, that is the achievement not just getting to the magic 300.

This tips are available from Andy's group dedicated to bowling buddy game. I just made it googleable! LOL If there's such a word. Post are as it is without edits. Kudos, to those who made it.

This tip is by Theresa VanLeeuwen (LAPTOP TIP)

I received 300 on a laptop. What I do is find the 3 white dots the one dot is hard to find it is on the left top area of the ball almost like a line. Then I line this dot up a little to the left of the center line. I then drag my finger up the side of the mouse pad, this enables a nice straight line (it takes time to get the speed down). You want your speed at between 14 and 28 that is when it works the best, hope this helps anyone out there.

Battle Stations reminded me of the game Uncharted Waters (UW) produced by Koei in the 1990’s, it has a large cult following in the East Asia region but not much recognition from other parts of the world.

Simple trick...

Grab hold of the ball, move it forward and backward very quickly to build momentum.
Release suddenly ...

You can easily get between the 40 km/hr - 50 km/hr range. Try it. Note it's average speed for the game, so you don't have to worry about that one or two throws that's less then ideal.

I've got that award after my second attempt. This really works.

Bowling Buddies trick 3: How to get the perfect 300 game?

This trick is from Andy Biggs.

Tip 1 - (PC tip)

1. Minimize your screen to half

2. Scroll with your mouse to the bottom of the page

3. pick up the ball using the left click and keep pressed

4. Line it up so the small white spot on the far left side of the ball is slightly to the left of the middle lane (practice this to get the right position)

5. Bowl using the mouse wheel instead of using the movement of the mouse, keeping the mouse still as you do this or it will go off course

6. if you have problems with Number 5 go to your mouse settings from your control panel and go to the "wheel" tab and click on the button that says "Scroll one page with each click" and it will make it a lot easier to be consistent.

Tip 2

NEW TIP..............If the scroll does not work

How to play Bowling Buddies series.

Bowling went virtual with Bowling Buddies. This game is developed by Playfish and featured stylish 3D graphics, easy controls, tons of achievements, customised characters and challenges against your friends.

This game allows you to toggle between 2D and 3D graphics and caters for fast or slow PC. I was not too into the game until I start winning some award, that where I start to check out the forum and look for the methods to WIN the different awards.

These are the awards available according to playfish support f.a.q. pages. I’ve copied those over for easy reference.

What do the icons mean?

Q: What do the icons in the main menu below my character and below my friends characters in the score chart mean? And how do I achieve them?

When I wrote about my experience in playing fluff, I was asking myself what left a deep impression about that game. The fluff “zoo” was the first thing that pops up. The next thing I know, I contacted Alisa and this is post is the outcome of it.

Here goes the interview!

KC: Brief introduction on why I wrote to her……

Start of the interview.

KC: How the idea came about?

Alisa Brown: When I first found the (fluff) friends application through a friend's Facebook, I went on the associated forum and saw these great little petting zoo sites. The way to excel in the game was to pet others, and the way to find others was these sites. They were nice, but not very user friendly; each (fluff) opened up in a new window. It took such a long time, and it was hard to keep track of where you were. I had basic knowledge of web design, so I decided to make my own "petting zoo." I thought, "What if you could just access the petting button, and nothing else?" To avoid becoming too cold and impersonal, (I still wanted to see the person's pet), the wide iframes came about. They were just high enough to see the petting button that you needed. You could scroll and see the person's whole page also. To keep load time reasonable, I kept three people per page. And BAM, Sliipiingiin's Zoo was born!

KC: See IT is great isn’t it. When was the site first launch?

Alisa Brown: I posted on the (fluff) forum in the "Zoos and Groups" topic the day that the site went live, although I was still working on the page banner. That was December 11th, 2007. When I say we're the first iframes (fluff) zoo, I mean it!

KC: How/Who help you to spread the word around?

Alisa Brown: The (fluff) forum was a great help. Many active users found my url there. Although I never thought to ask people to do it, people would post my url in their speech bubble (before the days of habitat captions!) so anyone who visited their page would also visit the zoo. I was really glad that they were so proud, to post the zoo url on their page!
During the egg hunt in March 2008, my url was thrown around the forum as a place to "hunt" for eggs. That's when traffic really picked up!

KC: Hey, action speaks louder then words you know! What kept you motivated to keep the site running?

Alisa Brown: Motivation is a difficult thing for me. My goal is to never have a maxed out or inactive pet in the zoo. This is really difficult as I have no advanced method for adding people, simply opening up my FTP and editing pages as I see people that need to be replaced. The thing that keeps me from ever closing the site is that it's self-sufficient, if a pet is inactive it can still earn the visitor munny, and I'll fix it when I have time for an update. I'm also motivated by the kind words and compliments the zoo has received. It's a useful site, and pretty cute too, so I'm proud of that.

KC: Any IT geeks who may volunteer your programming skills bringing her site to greater heights? Drop a post please! Any stats on how many pets have been in zoo thus far?

Alisa Brown: I have no idea how many people have been in the zoo total, but I know that only 450 people are members at any given time, and 1632 people have requested to be added since February 15th, 2008. That blows my mind a little; most of those people are active (fluff)ers, patiently waiting for someone else to max out or go inactive so they can get in!

KC: Wow! That’s cool for a self made site. Well done, give yourself a pet for that. Am I right you fans out there? lol.. Right, any instructions for users who want to be added to the Zoo?

Fluff Friends: Your virtual pet, a place where you can own exotic animal as pets. Feed them, pet them, and put them on a challenge with other pets.

Adopt a pet of your fancy. A simple game really… I’ll just share where to get “Munny”

Surveys for munny (100 munny, once a week.)
Copy your fluff link It should look something like this (http://apps.facebook.com/fluff/fluffbook.php?id=747863624). Tagged along a few of your friends and post some on other folks fluff page (look for the active ones, you can tell from their fluff post page). Be careful though don’t do it too frequent that you hit the pink screen of Arrrrh (I’m block from Facebook…) I’ve got that once, I’m wiser now LOL…
Easiest way, Visit the fluff zoo, to give endless pets. (endless Munny as well) Or you can place them in the Zoos for others to pet… Yes you didn’t hear that wrongly…. “ZOO”. Here’s one to place your pet in: http://fluff.sugar-licious.net/
Food items changes price daily so, if it’s an item that your pet likes (e.g.+10fph, +9fph, +8fph) stock up when prices are low.

Some tricks that I had used in the course of playing packrat!

1. Buy cheap item from the market and keep on swapping for higher value items from the rats, BTW (they are picture if rats instead of human) ^_^

2. Vault items of the same kind to gain points, increase you level, and open up the markets during the early stages. I go for higher value items like 4000 – 5000 range where possible. Look for items that are available in abundance from the rats pack.

4. Sometimes i just vault to get vault cards, who knows I may chance upon new cards!

5. If your pack is full, steal a lock from a rat, lock something in your pack but refresh your screen 3 times, return to your pack and your lock will have been used up and you will be left with a space. (Edited: 7 Dec, this is not valid anymore with the new pack rat game, this current version does not have locks.) If your pack is full swap the cards to a friend's pack, look for those who are not exposed to FFAs. Pass the card that you've got to the rats swap with coins to free up space. Why choose a friend who does not really play and there are not many pack raters around, simple so that you have enough time to swap it back when you can.

6. Another way get yourself unstuck from full pack, is to swap for items that can be used to create a recipe. Choose cards that are easy to find in the rats. I normally choose lower value cards that are easy to steal.

7. When vaulting for vault bonuses you will achieve the best results if you vault your pack to empty, vaulting everything in your pack yields you 5 vault bonus cards. (I usually don't get a chance to do that as there are FFA around me)

Here you go…

Packrat. What is it? Hmm, have you done cards collection before? Or collect a series of stickers in an album …Ah ha, you’ve got it. It’s an electronic version of the collection game, with a twist… since it’s electronic, you get to “steal”, combine cards to make new ones.

Aim of the game - is to collect items from different cards to complete a collection. When you first added the game you are given a 'pack' containing five different items. Each item is from a different 'collection' - for example collection series like 'Oh the Drama', 'Jump the shark' etc, it's differentiated by a icon at the corner of each packrat card. Once you have either a set of 5 of the same card, or 5 distinct items from the same collection, you can move them to your 'vault', where they're safe.

To get the cards that you need, either steal them from your friends collections, or buy them from the market.

Onward with the game…

Some quick and simple notes for new players of Packrat. Nay, I’m not going to write a bible about it, it’s learn as you play!

Step 1: Get 5 different items from the same series and learn how to vault. Don’t just swap and steal cards, you need to vault! You will receive a new card with each vault.

Step 2: Work towards opening up all the markets so you can buy items and be able to complete your set, least you get bored along the way. Some markets only open up at level 25 I think. (*I’m way above that to remember which level)

Step 3: Choose a set and start completing it. Work with a friend, a group of friends or anybody who can help so you can complete the set faster.

Step 4: Practice the locks to earn some credits. (Edited: 7 Dec 08, The new pack rat do not have locks anymore, there's now a protected area and a shared stash where your friends/rats can drop items for sharing.)

Step 5: You can get 250 credits daily if you login to the game. (per 24 hr)

Step 6: Sit back, relax and enjoy… or like some who did it, scold those who pretend to be cooperating when they are actually rats! Ha Ha...

Hi All,

This is actually my very first blog, after much thought and deliberation between should and should not start it. I guess it’s started! First of all, some simple things in life that I enjoy…..Playing games, be it casual, strategy or arcade games. PC games are still my favorite…but Alas! I had a notebook that is not game friendly so I have switch to internet games for the time being.
